SJA’s Christmas Shoppe, Café and Dinner is a 2-day annual event held in November, and is well-known in the community! There are 4 main components: the shopping, the lunch café, the gourmet dinner, and the wine sale. The shopping takes place from 10-7pm on Friday, and 10-4pm on Saturday. The school is transformed into a shopping wonderland with many diverse vendors set up throughout the school (primarily MacDonald Hall, Susan Tucker Moore theater, and the St. James Center-gym).
The lunch café takes place in the St. James Center, where the Patrons’ Association Culinary Crew prepares and makes delicious, homemade fresh soups (Cream of Crab is our best seller!), salads, and sandwiches. The extraordinary dinner takes place Friday night, in the St. James Center gymnasium, which is transformed into a warm and cozy atmosphere where the Patrons’ Culinary Crew once again prepares a delicious, gourmet, restaurant quality meal, sure to please all! The SJA Patrons’ and SJA community enjoy this fun filled evening out with friends. Besides the gala, the Christmas Shoppe dinner is one of the most anticipated adult functions at SJA!
The Wine Sale takes place during the Christmas Shoppe. SJA parents, alumni, and friends are asked to “sponsor” a case of wine for the Christmas Shoppe Café and dinner. The Patrons’ then purchase that case of wine, and those bottles in the case will be sold during the Christmas Shoppe Café and dinner. Whatever bottles from that case are left at the end of the dinner, the sponsor is responsible for purchasing. Whether there are 12 bottles, or only 3 bottles left from the sponsored case, that is what the sponsor pays for. Sponsors are welcomed and encouraged to buy a bottle (or more) of wine from other sponsors. Holiday shopping completed in one night! This is definitely an event not to be missed. We hope you can join us!
